15 DUI Arrests, 185 Accidents, 1,700 Citations: State Police Release Thanksgiving 2015 Statistics
There were no fatal accidents this Thanksgiving holiday week, Connecticut State Police said. In 2014, there was one fatal accident.

Connecticut State Police handed out almost 1,700 citations this Thanksgiving season, as of 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 27, according to a press release from police.
No fatal accidents have been reported on Connecticut’s roadways. A total of 185 accidents have been investigated including 26 of them resulting in injury, State Police said.
A total of 488 speeding tickets have been administered, 96 seatbelt violations, 1,119 other hazardous moving violations, which includes unsafe lane change, following too closely, cell phone usage, texting, failure to signal etc.

Fifteen DUI arrests were made.
During the holiday weekend, drivers can expect to see additional State Police cruisers out on the roadways. The extra patrols began at 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, and will conclude at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 29.

Troopers patrolled roads and highways across Connecticut, focusing on drunken driving violations and aggressive drivers, State Police said.
2014 Thanksgiving Traffic Statistics
In 2014, during the Thanksgiving holiday, there were 1,106 speeding citations, 314 seatbelt infractions issued, 3,538 hazardous moving violations, 52 DUI arrests, and a staggering 934 accidents and 97 includes injuries, with one fatality.
Uniformed troopers will use traditional and non-traditional patrol cars to observe traffic and issue tickets to reckless and distracted drivers, according to state police.
They reminded drivers that “anyone who is consuming alcohol should never get behind the wheel. If you see a suspected drunk driver, call 911, this is a true emergency.”
