2 Men Shot In Downtown New London, Police Say

Two men were shot late Thursday night in downtown New London. A police investigation is underway.

NEW LONDON, CT — Police are investigating after two men were shot in New London on Thursday night.

Police responded to a call reporting shots fired in the area of Bank and Golden streets at 11:12 p.m.

A man had suffered a gunshot wound in his lower extremity, police said. He was taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital for treatment.

A second man arrived at the same hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to his lower extremity. The gunshot wounds the victims suffered do not appear to be life-threatening.

Police said the incident does not appear to be a random act.

The investigation into the shooting remains active.
