4 New London Liquor Stores Sell to Minor: Police

Four clerks were arrested for sale of alcohol to a minor.

Four New London liquor stores were found to be out of compliance with state liquor laws, while nine stores were in compliance.

According to a press release from New London Deputy Police Chief Peter Reichard, compliance checks were performed at New London package stores on Dec. 10.

The following stores and clerks were found to be out of compliance for selling alcohol to a minor:

  • Eric’s Liquor Store, 643 Broad St. New London; Clerk: Suellen Walz of New London; Sale of Alcohol to a Minor
  • Montauk Ave. Package Store, 207 Montauk Ave., New London; Clerk: Suryakany Patel of Waterford; Sale of Alcohol to a Minor
  • The Packy, 915 Bank St., New London; Clerk: Pamela Mercado of New London; Sale of Alcohol to a Minor
  • Thames River Wine & Spirits, 68 State St., New London; Clerk: Kyle Hatch of New London; Sale of Alcohol to a Minor

Members of the New London Police Department VIS Unit and the school resource officer, along with a representative of the New London Campus and Community Coalition, in coordination with Southeastern Regional Action Council, performed the checks.
