"Adopt A Book" Reception Taking Place On Thursday

New London residents invited to sponsor a volume to support the library

This week, the Public Library of New London is beginning its annual "Adopt A Book" program, inviting residents to sponsor new books to help support the library.

The reception for the event will run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday. It will run in tandem with the display of artwork from those who participated in "I Draw New London."

Anyone who sponsors a new book may be the first person to check that book out of the library. The books may also be marked with name plates recognizing the person who adopts the book or someone they wish to memorialize. The program runs through Dec. 21.
