The City Council meets today at 7 p.m. and the agenda includes the Bennie Dover Jackson Middle School boiler, funding for Parade Plaza summer events, and a memo from the law director on the authority of the mayor to withhold line item spending. This is preceded at 5 p.m. by the Public Welfare Committee, which hears proposals for Community Development Block Grant funding.

3. The Public Library of New London has regular trainings on how best to use its nonprofit resource grant database. One of these will start today at 3:30 p.m.
