Five things to know for January 14

1. Fog and showers likely in the morning, with partly cloudy conditions in the afternoon. Sunrise is 7:13 a.m., sunset is 4:43 p.m. The high temperature reaches 52 degrees and the overnight low falls to 33 degrees.
2. The meets at 5 p.m. tonight at City Hall to discuss issues such as a Riverside Park playscape and the permitting procedure for parks and facilities. This is followed by a 6 p.m. meeting of the Public Works Committee, with an agenda on topics including low-impact development, hazard mitigation, and clean fuel.
3. The broomball league is starting up tomorrow at the Rink at Parade Plaza. Registration for the league is $50 and covers all materials. Don’t be left out in the cold if you’re interested.
