Daily Five: Sgt. Hartman's Birthday, Bridal Show, Mystic Irish Parade

1. A mild day today, with sunshine and a temperature peaking at 48 degrees. Sunrise is 6:44 a.m., sunset is 7:05 p.m. Some clouds roll in overnight and the low temperature falls to 33 degrees.

2. Q105 hosts a bridal show today at the Mystic Marriott Hotel & Spa in Groton. Get tips on everything from caterers to limos at this event, which starts at noon and runs until 5 p.m.

3. Not quite ready to give up on St. Patrick’s Day? The Mystic Irish Parade celebrates its 10th year, with performers from New London and the region taking part. The procession starts at 1 p.m., running from Mystic Seaport to the Mystic Arts Center.

4. Due to scheduling conflicts, Waterford Patch editor Paul Petrone wasn’t able to visit the Connecticut Humane Society to check out the animals up for adoption there. Pets of the Week will return next Sunday.
