Daily Five: Voices On The Thames, Russell Crowe, Elvis Lives

Five things to know for April 7

1. The day is up to 13 hours long, with a sunrise at 6:21 a.m. and sunset at 7:21 p.m. Morning clouds give way to sun in the afternoon, with the temperature reaching 51 degrees for the day. Overnight, it falls to 44 degrees.

2. The Voices on the Thames choir holds a free spring concert this afternoon. The youth singers start their lineup at 2 p.m. at the Second Congregational Church of New London.

3. If you’re more in the mood for The King, the Broadway series at the Garde Arts Center brings in Elvis Lives! for a musical look at the life of the Graceland artist. The show starts at 3 p.m., and tickets are $53.

4. For now, matters of opinion are something that appears in the Boards section of the site. So this is where The Skrimshander Articles will live on, starting with this post on an odd fight involving the Whale Tail.

5. Russell Crowe, an actor best known for his roles in films such as Gladiator and Les Miserables, turns 49 today.
