#DStrong Fundraiser Taking Place on Feb. 20
The fundraiser for Dorian Murray, a famous eight-year-old battling cancer, will take place in Mystic.
In honor of Dorian Murray, Rhode Island’s famous eight-year-old battling cancer, Mystic’s Margaritas Mexican Restaurant will host a special Noche Mexicana Fundraiser at the restaurant, 12 Water St., on Saturday, Feb. 20, from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Twenty percent of all guest checks that day will be donated directly to #DSTRONG for Hasbro’s Children Hospital in Providence, R.I. Anyone who cannot attend may visit the GoFundMe fundraising page for Dorian.
#DSTRONG is the movement sparked by Dorian Murray’s imagination. Dorian has been battling rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of pediatric cancer, since he was four.
He wants one thing before he passes away — to become famous. #DSTRONG was born and quickly went viral with more than 100,000 people around the world sending him messages of strength, including celebrities like Justin Bieber and Tom Brady.
“The Mystic community, along with the rest of New England, is moved by the story of Dorian and #DSTRONG,” said Margaritas president, Hugo Marin. “He’s quite an amazing young man and his story touches our hearts. Margaritas is honored to participate with his family and the Hasbro Children’s Hospital, giving us the opportunity to help Dorian and his family during this difficult time.”
