Gas Prices Rise In Time For Holiday Travel

Gas prices have gone up, just in time for the big Thanksgiving trek over the hills and through the woods to grandma's house. According to a Lundberg survey published on Sunday, the average price for a gallon of gas went up by 3.4 cents as of November 22. That's after steady decreases in the weeks from early September to November 8 that brought prices down by about 37 cents.

The good news is that gas is still significantly cheaper than it was this time last year. AAA reports that the price of gas is 21 cents less than it was a year ago. The bad news is that Connecticut is one of the states with the highest gas prices. 

According to Gasbuddy.com, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas in the Nutmeg state is just under $3.65. Gasbuddy.com reports the lowest prices for gas in New London are at the Hodges Square Sunoco Station at 407 Williams Street, where a gallon of regular unleaded costs $3.59, and at Ravi Petro, 290 Broad Street, where you'll pay $3.61 a gallon.
