Gun Safe Giveaway Coming Up In New London

NEW LONDON, CT — The New London Police Department is participating in the 5th Annual Connecticut Statewide Gun Safe Giveaway Day.

The event will be Nov. 1 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the police department for a free gun safe giveaway.

It is first come, first served and is for pistol permit holders.

"This event aims to promote safety and prevent accidents by ensuring that firearms are securely stored," the police department said. "To receive a free gun safe, recipients must have and present a valid CT pistol permit and complete a brief survey at the event."
