Homicide Case Leads to Arrest of New London Man

A woman was found deceased at a Cole Street, New London residence. The death was ruled suspicious.

New London Police officers responded to a call regarding an unresponsive female at 53 Cole St. New London, at approximately 12:02 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18.

Upon arrival, police found a 46-year-old deceased female in the upstairs bedroom of the residence, according to New London Deputy Police Chief Peter Reichard.

“There were evident signs of trauma and the incident is currently being investigated as a homicide,” he said.

A person of interest was at the scene when the initial officers arrived. The New London Police Department arrested said person, David J. McKeever 47, for the alleged involvement in the murder of Delma Murphy.

The New London Police Detectives, The Connecticut State Police and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner are still on scene investigating the death.
