Michael's Dairy Opens Second Location In Groton

A popular New London summer venue is opening up the second location across Thames River.

Michael's Dairy expanded to The Bridge Market, located at 118 Fort Hill Road in Groton, with an opening on May 20. This location will be open from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and noon to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

"The owner of the Bridge Market actually contacted us, "said Jessica Brodeur, manager of Michael's Dairy. "They were looking for an ice cream store to take place at the front of their store. They had a bunch of recommendations that we were the best ice cream around."

The new location will feature 16 of the 46 flavors of ice cream offered by Michael's Dairy. Brodeur said the flavored will be rotated throughout the season.

Michael's Dairy is run by students from Mitchell College, and students will also run the new location. The Bridge Market also includes a Bess Eaton venue and the food truck The Rolling Tomato.

Brodeur said the new location will run through October. She said the business will see how well the new location works before considering any other expansion.
