Motorcycle Menace—New London Police Arrest Reckless Dirt Bike Riders

New London Police Department takes two unlicensed, uninsured, and unregistered dirt bike riders off the road.

New London Police Department has been plagued with calls for service with regard to stolen motorcycles and reckless operation by these unlicensed, unregistered, and uninsured operators.

For now, at least, a couple of reckless riders are off the road. 

According to a press release from New London Police Department, on September 12, members of New London's patrol division observed two individuals riding motorcycle dirt bikes in an illegal and reckless manner throughout the city. 

Juan Morales, 25, of 44 Center Street, New London, was located hiding in the Bates Woods park complex after he was last seen entering the park on a motorcycle. Morales was charged with reckless driving, operating a motorcycle without motorcycle license endorsement, operating an unregistered motorcycle, and operating without insurance. Morales was being held on a $1000 bond. His motorcycle was towed from the scene and impounded.

The second individual, Michael Escobales, 18, of 7 Michael Rd, Apt B, New London, was arrested by patrol officers following a brief foot chase into a wooded area of the old Edgerton School Complex on Cedar Grove Avenue, New London. 

Escobales was charged with four counts of reckless driving, operating a motorcycle without motorcycle license endorsement, interfering with police, and trespass in the third degree. Escobales was being held on a $1000 bond.
