New London Offers A Taste of the Caribbean on Saturday

We may be missing the palm trees and the drinks with tiny umbrellas but a balmy breeze blowing across the Thames will set the stage for the Third Annual Caribbean Night at the New London Waterfront-Custom House Pier on Saturday, August 24.  

New London Caribbean Night offers nonstop music, Caribbean cuisine and plenty of dancing starting at 5 p.m. The evening begins with New London favorite DJ Leo providing music sounds of islands. The youth group sensation, New London Mega Stars will perform, followed by a dance competition for local dancers to showcase their salsa and bachata talents.  

This all culminates with a live music performance by Jesus Andujar and his Grupo Sazón. The Providence based Grupo Sazón is a New England favorite for dancers and listeners alike and will undoubtedly have  the crowd  dancing and swaying to their infectious sounds. Caribbean style food will be available for purchase along with other vendors. Come out and enjoy the sounds of the islands. Admission is free!
