New London Police Charge Man With Auto Store Burglary

Department says Angel Rodriguez was found inside Car Quest Auto Parts

A 31-year-old man was arrested early this morning after officers found him inside an auto parts store that had been broken into, according to the New London Police Department.

Deputy Chief Peter Reichard said Angel Rodriguez, who had no known address, was charged with third-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, sixth-degree larceny, and third-degree criminal mischief.

Reichard said officers were doing a building check at Car Quest Auto Parts, located at 390 Broad Street, at about 3:30 a.m. when they found a broken window on one of the garage doors and evidence that someone had entered the building. Officers also determined that the person might still be inside the business.

Reichard said Rodriguez was found in the building after officers conducted a search with a K-9 unit.
