New London Police Charge Man With Marijuana Cultivation
Weapons complaint leads to arrest of Trevor Blize

A weapons complaint resulted in the arrest of a New London man on drug charges on Tuesday.
The New London Police Department charged 26-year-old Trevor Blize with marijuana cultivation. The department has also filed an arrest warrant affidavit for several weapons charges.
Deputy Chief Peter Reichard said the department received a complaint from a person who said they saw a tenant of 31 Blinman Street firing a rifle inside his apartment at an earlier date. Reichard said officers went to the residence to question the tenant about the incident and saw several potted marijuana plants growing near the apartment's front door.

Reichard said Blize admitted to growing the plants. He also showed police a .22-caliber Mossberg rifle that was in plain sight in a back room of the apartment. Officers seized the rifle, several hundred rounds of ammunition, and evidence to show that the weapon had been fired inside the apartment.
On the same day as Blize's arrest, police also charged Damien Bartholomew, 32, and Larry Brinkley, 26, with several drug and vehicle crimes, including possession of marijuana with intent to sell. The men were arrested after a police chase that ended in a collision at the intersection of Ocean Ave. and Lee Ave. Bartholomew's address was also given as 31 Blinman Street, but Reichard said his case was unrelated to Blize's.
