How did you come up with the name?

I originally had the name Virgo’s Delights as I was only making cakes, cupcakes etc.. But Shane was getting alot of side orders for west indian food. So to better suit us, we changed the name to Kingstons Delights, as he is from Kingston, Jamaica.

Why start a business in this town?

We started out in Bronx, Ny, We moved to New London, 5 years ago, our fans still remain and our fan base continues to grow.

What business are you in?

Kingston’s Delights is a catering business that specializes in Caribbean and Soul Food, cakes, cupcakes, cookies and custom lollipops. We provide buffet style service, dessert tables and sit-down dinners are coming soon!

What’s the most difficult challenge you’ve faced as a business owner?

I would say opening an actual small restaurant. That is our number one goal!

What’s been your proudest achievement since opening?

I would say, giving back to the community, when you are blessed you should always share your blessings!

How does your business give back to the community?

Every year Kingstons Delights gives an end of the summer barbecue, targeting the youth. We receive alot of donations like gift cards, back to school supplies, custom t-shirts, bracelets from our customers. We also promote STD and health awareness to our youth. This is year we are proud to support U.S.N.S.C.C
