Mitchell College player scored 43 points in win over Southern Vermont College
For the third time this season, Mitchell College junior Joshua Ford is the New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week in men's basketball.
In this video, posted on the Mitchell Athletics channel, Ford gives a brief interview on the honor. Ford, a forward, racked up 43 points and 13 rebounds in the Mariners' 101-72 win over Southern Vermont College on Saturday. The point total was not only a career high for Ford, but also the most points scored by a single Mitchell player in a game since the school joined Division III for the 2004-2005 season.
At the time he received the honor, Ford was at the head of the NECC in scoring with an average of 22.9 points per game. He was also leading the league in shooting percentage (66.7) and double-doubles (seven).

Since this honor, the Mariners defeated Wheelock 94-61 in a Tuesday game. Ford netted 26 points and picked up 16 rebounds in the game.
Ford, a junior from Jersey City, N.J., was also the NECC Rookie of the Year in the 2011-2012 season and ranked sixth in the nation in rebounds for that time. He is majoring in sports management.
