New London Tube: Palm Sunday Music

Easter is coming up on Sunday, but the lead-up to the Christian holiday includes a number of other observances as well. Today's featured video shows a couple of solo musical performances from Palm Sunday at the Second Congregational Church.

The video shows two choral performances, one with harp accompaniment and one with the church's organ. The video was posted by Allyn Bryson Donath, or the "Mystic Harpist." She is a professional harpist who lives in Mystic and serves as the music director for the church.

Although it is a small congregation, the church has a strong music program. In addition to a junior and senior choir, the Voices on the Thames chorus is open to children throughout New London County. This group will hold a concert at 2 p.m. on April 7 at the church. Around Christmas, the church hosts a Holiday Harps on the Hill concert.
