New London Tube: Piano Time Lapse At Caruso Piano Gallery

Thirty pianos arrive in rapid succession at New London store

The rebranding of Caruso Music as Caruso Piano Gallery probably tipped you off that the store has turned its focus from a wider range of music to a specialty in the ivory keys.

The store offers both the instruments as well as services such as piano moving and lessons. Occasionally, it even gives them away. The pianos featured in the downtown Piano Project in 2011 were donated by Caruso, and last year the store offered select free pianos to anyone who was willing to get them out of the store.

So how do the pianos get into the store? The answer, this video suggests, is plastic-wrapped and in bulk.

The camera is pointed to one corner of the store as piano after piano materializes in a blur of activity. According to the description, a total of 30 upright and grand pianos arrived as part of the shipment. After the wrappings are removed, the video closes with a panning shot over the shiny new products.
