One Stolen Cigarette Ends in 5-Year Jail Sentence for New London Man
A New London man pleaded guilty to robbery after pointing a gun at a Ravi Mart clerk.

New London resident Kirk Skinner, 50, was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to robbery in the first degree at a Monday, Dec. 14, court date, according to The Day.
Skinner attempted to rob the Ravi Mart at 268 Bank St. in New London in October 2014. The clerk refused to give Skinner any money after recognizing that he was a regular customer. He left with one cigarette, police said.
