Police Arrest 4 Men in New London Shooting Case

Three New London residents and one New York resident were arrested after an alleged shooting on Crystal Avenue.

A Nov, 29, 2015, shooting at 48 Crystal Ave. in New London resulted in the arrest of four men. Two on-site arrests were made as a result of search warrants.

Nehamiah Carrol, 24, of 48 Crystal Ave., New London, was charged with the following:

  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Operating a Drug Factory
  • Possession of a Hallucinogen
  • Possession of Narcotics
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Possession of Marijuana With Intent to Sell
  • Possession of Marijuana With Intent to Sell Within 1,500-feet of a Housing Project

The second on-site arrest was of Jeffery Saunders, 26, of 605 Hoe Ave. Bronx, N.Y. Saunders was charged with:

  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Operating a Drug Factory

“During this shots fired incident, multiple weapons were fired,” New London Police Deputy Chief Peter Reichard said in a press release. “One of those weapons, a Norinco AK-47 style rifle, was recovered at the scene on the night of the shooting.”

On Thursday, Jan. 7, officers located evidence from the incidence, police said.

That same day, the New London Police Department, assisted by the Connecticut State Police’s Statewide Narcotics Task Force - East, served search warrants at two locations at 48 Crystal Ave.

The following people were arrested as a result of the investigation. Rashon A. Saunders, 27, of 60 Boulder Drive, New London, was charged with:

  • Criminal Attempt at Assault 1st
  • Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm
  • Reckless Endangerment 1st
  • Violation of a Protective Order

Andre N. Cluff, 27, of 111 Truman St. New London, was charged with:

  • Criminal Attempt at Assault 1st
  • Criminal Possession of a Firearm
  • Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm
  • Reckless Endangerment 1st
  • Criminal Possession of a High Capacity Magazine
