Police Charge Mashantucket Man In Armed Robbery

Malik Nunn accused of robbing man in New London at knifepoint

A 19-year-old man was arrested on Monday on charges that he robbed a teenager at knifepoint and police were seeking a second person who may have been involved in the incident.

Malik Nunn, of 56 Coachman Pike in Mashantucket, was charged with first-degree assault, second-degree strangulation, third-degree assault, and sixth-degree larceny. He was held on a $75,000 bond.

Deputy Chief Peter Reichard of the New London Police Department said the incident occurred at 9:07 p.m. on Monday evening near the intersection of Colman Street and Garfield Ave. The victim, who had some superficial cuts on his neck, said Nunn pushed him against a wall and held a knife to his throat. The victim was robbed of cash and other items and did not require medical treatment for his injuries.

Police learned that Nunn was at a Laurel Drive address and arrested him there after the victim identified him as the person who had robbed him.

Reichard said the investigation is ongoing and anyone with any information on the incident should contact the department at 860-447-5269.
