A public hearing will be held on the evening of May 9 on the proposed budget for the 2014 fiscal year for New London's schools and municipal departments. The first reading of the budget includes a $41,565,314 municipal budget and $40,414,666 school budget, with a proposed tax rate increase of 3.38 percent, from 26.6 per $1,000 of assessed value to 27.5.
The hearing starts at 7 p.m. at the New London High School auditorium.
