Police ID Man Shot Near New London's Ravi Mart
The man sustained several gunshot wounds and is hospitalized in critical condition, according to New London Police.

At 1:06 a.m. Friday, Feb. 19, New London Police were dispatched to the area of the Ravi store, 283 Broad St., New London, to investigate the report of gunshots and possible victims.
“While officers were responding to the scene, a victim was located in his vehicle several blocks away from the shooting,” New London Deputy Police Chief Peter Reichard said in a release. “Officers found the victim to be injured and bleeding from several gunshot-like wounds.”
New London Police identified the victim as Kevin L. McKinnon, Jr., 26, of 32 Belden St., New London. He was transported to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Room and then transferred to Yale-New Haven Hospital for treatment and evaluation of what Lawrence and Memorial described as critical injuries, Reichard said.

“Emergency surgery was performed at Yale on the victim and he is currently listed in critical condition by the hospital,” police said.
