Shots Fired in New London This Morning
New London Police received calls about shots fired near Buchanan Road and a possible victim.

At approximately 2:06 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, New London Police responded to the area of the entrance way to Buchanan Road after receiving numerous calls of shots fired in the area with a potential victim struck by a bullet.
At least one occupied car, not believed to be related to the incident, was damaged during the shooting, Deputy Chief Peter Reichard said in a police report.
Damage to the outside of an apartment building also occurred.

Reichard said witness informed police that a man sustained injuries during the shooting and was driven from the scene by an unknown person.

Local hospitals were informed of the situation but none reported a gunshot or assault victim, police said.
During the investigation, family members of the alleged victim called police and said they had located him and he was not injured. Officers are following up with family members, Reichard said.
New London patrol units on scene were being assisted by the detective bureau with statements and evidence collection.
