Stephen MacKenzie Named as New seCTer Executive Director

MacKenzie will begin working at the economic development agency on August 1.

C. Stephen MacKenzie will be stepping up as the next executive director at seCTer, according to a press release sent to Patch.

MacKenzie has served as the Senior Vice President of the Connecticut Economic Resource Center since 2007 and will be moving from Fairfield to southeast Connecticut for his new position at the public-private economic development agency. 

"Steve MacKenzie stood out because of the breadth of his experience, his knowledge of the State of Connecticut economic development process and players, and his personality," said seCTer Chairman Mark R. Oefinger in the press release. 

MacKenzie has also worked as the Director of Economic Development in Stamford and as a Senior Executive at the Nova Scotia Department of Economic Development, Investment and Trade Division.

He gained international experience from his time as Managing Director for Euro Access, as a European Project Manager for a market research consulting firm and as an Administration Officer/Loan Officer for Toronto Dominion Bank in Halifax, Nova Scotia, according to the release.
