Members of the New London Police Department jogged the length of Bank Street on Wednesday afternoon as they joined in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.
The annual event has grown from a local effort in 1981 to the Special Olympics' most extensive event to raise funds and awareness. Departments in 48 countries now take part in the Torch Run.
Check out the video to see the NLPD hit the pavement. Thanks also to Jackie Turro for sending photos of the run from the perspective of an accompanying vehicle.
