Whaling City Film Project Starts This Weekend
Interested film crews may begin work in New London on Friday

The Whaling City Film Project will return this weekend, encouraging anyone with an interest in film to make a short film in a short period of time.
The kickoff for the event is at 7 p.m. on Friday at the Garde Arts Center. There, teams will randomly select a film genre and be informed of a number of factors that must appear in the film, including a prop, character name, and phrase. Films must also include at least one New London landmark and at least 30 seconds of film shot in the city.
Filming may take place over the next four days, with the finished product to be delivered to the Garde Arts Center no later than 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 9. All footage must be original and all participants must be volunteers. The finished product should be between four minutes and seven minutes in length. A full list of rules is available on the official website.
