Which New London Streets Do People Speed On the Most?

Where do you think the biggest problem areas are in New London?

NEW LONDON, CT - The New London Police Department recently added two speed trailers to its repertoire, in an effort to monitor speeds in certain locations around the city.

“These speed trailers are able to monitor traffic patterns as well as log speeds of vehicles throughout various times of the day,” police said via Facebook. “The trailers also have the ability to be utilized for traffic direction and are equipped with a message board to inform the public of hazardous conditions.”

The two speed trailers were purchased by Connecticut College from Custom Signals and donated to the New London Police Department for use within the city. Police said Connecticut College initiated the venture to help determine traffic hazards, high speed locations, and educating the public about monitoring driving speeds.

“The Police Department as well as Mayor Passero’s office worked on this project with Connecticut College in an effort to provide a safe environment for all vehicular and pedestrian traffic traveling within the city,” police said. “The city is grateful for the donation and the partnership that exists between Connecticut College and the City of New London.”
