Wine Merchant Robber Sought

New London Police looking for man who stole money from package store on Thursday

The New London Police Department is seeking a man accused of robbing the Wine Merchant package store on Thursday evening.

Acting Chief Peter Reichard said the store, located at 88 Broad Street, was robbed at 6:55 p.m. A white man, estimated to be about 30 years old, entered the store and ran around the counter to take money from the register. He did not display a weapon and no injuries occurred in the incident.

Police investigated the surrounding area but were unable to locate a suspect. The man was described as about five feet, 10 inches tall and wearing jeans and a grey sweatshirt.
