"Wise Women" At The Garde Arts Center On April 11

Residents are invited to attend the screening of a film on "extraordinary women on a powerful journey to change the world" and a discussion with the filmmakers next week.

Get Real! Wise Women Speak starts at 7:30 p.m. on April 11 at the Garde Arts Center. It is preceded by a 6:30 p.m. dinner and wine reception.

The film follows a diverse group of women who endeavor to benefit their families, community, and the world. After the conclusion of the film, there will be a discussion with Joni Steele Kimberlin, who wrote, directed, and produced the film.

The program is sponsored by Touch of Grey, radio talk show host Carole Marks, and the Women & Girls Fund of Southeastern Connecticut. This fund started in 1999 and supports grants and programs that "help area women and girls create lasting and positive change for themselves, their families, and their communities."

Tickets to the show may be purchased at the Garde and are $15, or $10 apiece for groups of five or more. More information on the event or fund is available by contacting Alison Woods at the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut at alison@cfect.org or 860-442-3572.
