Man Ditches Weed, Leads Police on High Speed Chase Through Newtown and Monroe: Police
Police said that they attempted to stop the man who threw bags out the window which were later determined to be filled with marijuana.

Monroe, CT — Lieutenant Stephen Corrone of the Monroe Police Department said a man who was pulled over Tuesday led police on a high speed chase through Monroe and Newtown after attempting to flee from an officer who pulled him over for speeding.
Shaquan Moore was pulled over at 435 Main Street in Monroe after officers observed him traveling unreasonably fast, police said. According to a report, Moore gave his driver’s license and registration to the officer then, moments later, Moore fled the scene heading eastbound on Pepper Street at a high rate of speed.
The officer said he followed Moore and attempted to stop him again while Moore began throwing small plastic bags out the window which were later determined to be filled with a total of 7 ounces of marijuana.

Moore continued into Newtown, where police located him stuck in traffic at the intersection of Washington Ave. and Riverside Drive, police said.
Moore was charged with possession of more than 4 ounces of marijuana, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, reckless driving, engaging police in a pursuit, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and traveling unreasonable fast, according to a report.

Moore was held and later released on a total of fifteen thousand dollars bond.
