Man Reported Missing In Water, Emergency Responders Currently Searching Candlewood Lake
Numerous emergency responders are on the scene Friday night.

SHERMAN, CT — A water search is underway Friday night as crews are searching for a 55-year-old man, state officials said.
The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection EnCon police, along with the Candlewood Lake Authority, Sherman Fire Department, and specialized dive teams from Newtown Underwater Search and Rescue and New Milford police, are conducting a search operation on Candlewood Lake in Sherman.
"The search follows reports of a 55-year-old male who entered the water from a vessel and did not resurface," said DEEP spokesperson James Fowler. "As we understand, the vessel was anchored at the time, and a defined search area has been established. Dive teams are in the water working in coordination with responding agencies. "
