"Three months ago, when I announced that I wanted to run to be your next representative in Hartford, I talked about healthcare with accessible family planning, a better insurance marketplace, and quality hospitals; I said I want to protect the health of our environment by encouraging smart development, better solid waste management, and the use of green resources; I committed to promoting an education system that supports students, special education, and Connecticut’s workforce needs; And I said I am devoted to providing accessible housing and a livable community for all residents, whether young or old, new to town or a longtime resident," said Michelle in her acceptance speech. "Today, I am even more committed to addressing the concerns that I am hearing about from our Newtown neighbors at their front doors."
In his nominating speech, Joe Bojnowski said, “Michelle knows what the majority of Newtowners want, having served on the Board of Education for 8 years, on the Legislative Council and now as a Selectman."
