Patch reached out to candidates for office to get more information on their campaigns and the issues that are facing their towns.

Two sons, Brian and Timothy. Three grandchildren, Sophia (deceased), Brayden, and Olivia. I also have four step children and six step grandchildren from my wife Maria (deceased).

No

Previous public office, appointive or elective:
Board of Education from December 2021 to July 2024

Why are you seeking this office?
I am honored to have the opportunity to serve students, parents, and the Newtown community as a Board of Education Member. Public Education is an essential part of our Democratic Republic. Therefore, we who oversee school governance and administration have an enormous responsibility. Every student under our care has infinite potential that we must acknowledge and nurture for them to eventually take their rightful place in our society. I hope to be a refreshing influence as a BOE Member to make that happen.

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it:
The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is providing the highest quality education within the boundaries fiscal restraints. We also have a serious issue with divisive political ideology that exacerbates the most pressing issue before us. I intend to be a positive influence of reason and common sense along with other worthy members of the Board of Education to provide the highest quality education possible with greater unity of purpose and methods.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I can only say that the other candidates from both political parties of worthy of respect and consideration. I am confident that we will work together issue by issue for the benefit of kids under our care.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
I particularly support the efforts of every teacher to provide the highest quality instruction. Good things always begin within the boundaries of each individual classroom!

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I am a retired educator with 40 years of experience serving as a teacher and administrator in an urban (Norwalk) and suburban (Newtown) public school setting. I have served on the Newtown Board of Education in virtually all sub-committees.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Pray for Strength and Wisdom and the ability to make the world a better place.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I will utilize my talents to facilitate good communication and problem solving while also recognizing the talents of others around me to do the same.
