Newtown Police Arrest Man for Larceny, Criminal Mischief After Break-In

A Brookfield man attempted to burglarize the home of a Newtown resident but police caught him while he was trying to flee the scene.

NEWTOWN, CT — A Brookfield man has been arrested and charged with a number of offenses after police say he broke into a home on Jacob's Lane.

According to police, Christopher Braun, 33, of Brookfield, entered the home of a resident at 4 Jacob's Lane and fled the scene. Police responded and said they caught the man and charged him with attempted third degree larceny, conspiracy to commit third degree burglary, use of drug paraphernalia, second degree criminal trespass and second degree criminal mischief.

He is due in court on May 26, 2016.
