Newtown School Calendar 2018-19: First Day Of School, Vacations

NEWTOWN, CT — The first day of school in Newtown is August 27 — and whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you’ll want to mark the date on your calendar ASAP. The Newtown School District has released its 2018-2019 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 11/22 - 11/23: No School (Thanksgiving Break)

December

• 12/21: Early Dismissal
• 12/24 - 12/31: No School (Holiday Recess)

January

• 1/1: No School (Holiday Recess)
• 1/11: Delayed Opening (Staff Development)
• 1/21: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)

February

• 2/15: Early Dismissal (Staff Development)
• 2/18 - 2/19: No School (Presidents' Day Weekend)

March
