Woman Struck Parked Car, Fled Scene In Newtown: Police

Police are looking for information on the incident, and are seeking the driver of the car involved.

NEWTOWN, CT — Police are investigating after a woman allegedly crashed into a parked Nissan Rouge and fled the scene on Oct. 21. Witnesses told police the woman drove into the parking lot of the Tambascio's Restaurant and struck the Nissan in the parking lot.

The owner of the Nissan was just a few feet away from the collision as it happened, and was walking with his children, police said. Witnesses then confronted the woman, who later put the car in reverse and drove off south on Hattertown Road.

Witnesses described the driver as a white woman with sandy blonde hair. They estimated she was between 50 and 60 years old. Her Toyota is believed to have moderate damage to the right front bumper, police said.
