North Branford Favored For Shoreline Conference Baseball Crown

North Branford High School, the number-one ranked team in the Shoreline Conference baseball tournament, won its quarterfinal game against Coginchaug High Monday.

North Branford High School's baseball team is the favorite to win the Shoreline Conference Championship.

The team finished the regular season with an 18-3 record, good enough to earn them a number-one ranking in the Shoreline Conference tournament, according to the New Haven Register. And so far, the team has lived up to expectations, as it defeated Coginchaug High Monday 3-1 in the quarterfinals of the tournament, according to the Register.

Monday, the team was led by Mike Schettino, who pitched a complete game one-hitter, according to the New Haven Register. Also, Brandan Basil had two hits and a run and Chris Caron and Nick Perrelli each had RBIs for the Thunderbirds, according to the Register.
