2 Injured, 1 Seriously In Pre-Dawn Foxon Road Crash: North Branford Police

"Roadway conditions are believed to have been a contributing factor" in the 5 a.m. Christmas Eve crash on Foxon Road near Caputo Road: PD

NORTH BRANFORD, CT — Just after 5 a.m. Wednesday, a 911 caller to the North Branford Communications Center reported a car accident with injuries on Foxon Road near Caputo Road, authorities said.

North Branford police, North Branford Fire Department, and EMS responded and when they arrived, "officers observed two vehicles with heavy front-end damage," police said.

The operator of one vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital. The driver of the second vehicle was "trapped inside and required extensive extrication" by firefighters. That driver was seriously injured and was also transported to Yale New Haven Hospital.

:We are grateful for the swift and coordinated response of all first responders who arrived safely on scene and provided immediate medical care," police wrote on Facebook. "Their professionalism and dedication to our community remain unwavering."

Police are investigating the crash.
