North Branford Warming Center Open Due To Bitter Cold: Town Manager

The Atwater Library will serve as a drop in warming center for residents from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., now though Thursday at noon.

NORTH BRANFORD, CT — As weather forecasts indicate that the next several days will be a period of frigid cold with significant wind chill, the state activated its Severe Cold Weather Protocol through noon on Thursday, Jan. 9.

"Residents are urged to take care and remain sheltered during this anticipated temperature drop," Town Manager Michael Downes said.

North Branford opened a warming station for residents in need at the Atwater Memorial Library, 1720 Foxon Road., North Branford.

The library will be open as a warming shelter during normal business hours, from 10 a.m. through 8 p.m. During this time those needing warming shelter will be able to access the main entrance, community rooms and bathrooms.

Residents can also call 2-1-1 to locate additional sheltering options near them.
