Obituary: Peggy Hines Dillon, 91, of Northford

Peggy was a parishioner of the Church of the Resurrection and was a member of the North East Volunteer Fire Department's Ladies Auxiliary.

NORTHFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Peggy Hines Dillon 91, of Northford, went to join her beloved husband, Michael J. Dillon, on their 70th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, October 6, 2021.

She was born in Jacksonville, FL, December 14th, 1929, the daughter of the late Harry S. and Margaret (Callahan) Hines. Peggy was a parishioner of St. Frances Cabrini Church for many years and more recently at Church of the Resurrection.

She was a member of the North East Volunteer Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary.

Peggy is survived by her three daughters, Mary Ellen Sands and her husband John of North Haven, Fran J. Signore and her husband Dave Seals of Wallingford, and Patricia D. Carlo and her husband Martin III of Northford; her son and daughter-in-law, William E. and Linda Dillon of Wallingford; her siblings, George “Butch” and Mary Jane, Rosemary and Ed Petrosemolo, Ann Hines, Lucille Hines; her 11 grandchildren, Michael J. Dillon (Marianna) of Wallingford, Shannon Dillon (Rodrigo Cornejo) of Massachusetts, Dana Sands (Lee) of Middlebury, Jason P. Sands (Colleen) of Northford, Stephen A. Signore (Dr. Christine) of Wallingford, Mark A. Signore (Christina) of Mount Tremper, NY, Joseph R. Signore of North Haven, Kim Wiegert of Wallingford, Elisa Cirri (Christopher) of Wallingford, Shelby R. Artaiz (Marcus) of North Haven, Colby A.J. M. Carlo (Clayton) of Northford, and Salvatore M. Carlo of Northford; her great-grandchildren, Olivia, Jackson, Gavin, Anthony G., Peyton, A.J., Jude, Lilah, Ashton, Julio, Juliette, Anthony, Nicholas, Dominic, Mason, Christian, and Luca, and several nieces and nephews.

Peggy is predeceased by her brothers James, Jerry, Harry, Larry, Richard, Robert, and Bill and son-in-law Anthony Signore.

The family would like to thank Peggy’s beloved friend and caretaker, Terry Levine, and the staff of the Connecticut Hospice for their excellent care and friendship.

Peggy’s family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wallingford, on Sunday, October 10th, from 1pm to 4 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 1pm directly at Church of the Resurrection, 115 Pond Hill Rd., Wallingford.

Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford. Gifts in her memory may be sent to The CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405.
