NORTH BRANFORD, CT —North Branford police announced the activation of its cutting-edge radio system, a significant step in enhancing public safety communication within the town and across the state.

This comprehensive system is integrated with the "Connecticut Land Mobile Radio Network," managed by the state Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, providing unparalleled radio coverage throughout North Branford and extending our
communication reach statewide, according to Deputy Police Chief James Lovelace.

Operating on a 700 MHz and 800 MHz P25 digital radio platform, the new system supersedes
the outdated analog system and aging dispatch consoles, Lovelace said. It substantially increases
interoperability with public safety agencies in neighboring towns and throughout Connecticut,
fostering more effective emergency response coordination, the deputy chief noted.
