Area Cooperative Educational Services (ACES) was pleased to welcome of Romanian Ambassador, Andrei Muraru, for the signing of the cross-border proclamation exchange between Connecticut and Romania schools. The ACES International division of Area Cooperative Educational Services welcomed the Ambassador of Romania, His Excellency Andrei Muraru early December. This official visit was a historical event as ACES provided a proclamation of commitment to cross-border intercultural exchange and educational programming between students and educators of Connecticut and Romania.

In collaboration, Honorary Consul to Romania of Connecticut, Dana Bucin, and Director of ACES International, Jason Hiruo, have coordinated a visit to host Ambassador Muraru in honor of new international educational priorities in Connecticut for programming that connects classrooms collaboratively through online projects, in-person student exchange, professional sharing of best practices, and summer programming in arts, STEM, and career development.
“ACES takes great pride in the new partnership with the country of Romania,” said Dr. Thomas Danehy, Executive Director of ACES. “Through the support of the Honorary Consulate of Romania, we look forward to bringing learning communities together for intercultural exchange and international opportunities.”

Ambassador Muraru has a vast background in the educational field and ACES is privileged for this new partnership, as we honor the heritage and culture of Romania, to prioritize the cross-border exchange between Connecticut and Romanian schools.
ACES International hosted a reception for the Ambassador that included dignitaries from the State of Connecticut across the fields of public service, public education, global learning institutions, and higher education. A proclamation and celebration honoring his Excellency’s visit to Connecticut will mark the start of educational projects that begin in the Spring of 2023— starting with an advance team visit from ACES to Romania for introductions and planning with educators and leaders of Romania.
