NORTH HAVEN, CT — Back-to-school planning has already begun in North Haven, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in North Haven Public Schools for the 2025-26 school year.
The first day of school for most students in North Haven is Monday, Aug. 25.
Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change. Here is the list of dates to know for this school year:

- Labor Day, no school: Sept. 1
- Primary Election Day, no school: Sept. 9
- Rosh Hashanah, no school: Sept. 23
- Yom Kippur, no school: Oct. 2
- Columbus Day / Indigenous People’s Day, no school: Oct. 13
- Election Day / Staff Professional Development, no school for students: Nov. 4
- Veteran’s Day, no school: Nov. 11
- Thanksgiving Break, no school: Nov. 27-28
- Holiday Recess, no school: Dec. 24 – Jan. 2
- Martin Luther King Day, no school: Jan. 19
- Staff Development Day, no school: Feb. 13
- Presidents’ Day Recess: Feb. 16 – 17
- Good Friday, no school: April 3
- Spring Break, no school: April 6-10
- Memorial Day, no school: May 25
- Projected Last Student Day: June 11
- Juneteenth (if school is in session): June 19
