CONNECTICUT — Barstool Sports founder, and pizza aficionado, Dave Portnoy made several stops at pizzerias in Connecticut as part of a New York to Boston I-95 “Pizza Tour” over the weekend.

Portnoy opened the tour with a stop at Brewport Brewing Co. in Bridgeport, according to a post on his Facebook page. He followed that up with a stop at Papa’s Pizza in Milford.

The tour then took him to Olde World Brick Oven Apizza in North Haven and Fuoco Apizza in Cheshire, where Portnoy wrote “Can't stop won't stop,” along with a photo of a large pizza.

Portnoy previously declared New Haven the “Pizza Capital of the World” and said Sally’s was the best he’s ever had.

Portnoy gave Sally’s a 9.2, Modern Apizza on State Street an 8.8, Pepe’s an 8.5 and Bar on Crown Street a 7.4. He said Modern and Pepe’s were very close in quality and noted that Bar was more of a nightlife pizza, but was still good.

In addition to New Haven’s iconic institutions, Portnoy also visited Zuppardi’s Apizza in nearby West Haven and gave it an 8.2.
