Obituary: Charles E. DeMartino, 83, Of North Haven
A U.S. Army veteran, he owned and operated the Amber Restaurant for almost 50 years with his wife.

Charles E. DeMartino, 83, of North Haven, passed away May 3, 2025 at Masonicare Health Center. He was born October 8, 1941 in New Haven to Salvatore and Angelina (Campagnuolo) DeMartino. Charles is survived by his two sons; David DeMartino (Shana) of North Branford and Jeffrey DeMartino of Madison, NH along with four grandchildren; Sydney DeMartino, Jackson DeMartino, Charlotte DeMartino and Harrison DeMartino. Charles is also survived by a sister; Amber DeMartino (John Grasse) of Florida and two sister-in-laws; Nancy Raffile (Skip) of North Haven and Patricia Gray (James) of New Hampshire.
Charles (aka Charlie, Chaz, Chuck) served his country in the Army before owning and operating the Amber Restaurant for almost 50 years with his wife, Sheila along with their sons and several other family members. Charles had a deep love for his friends, family and extended family along with a great sense of humor. He and Sheila loved the horse races. Charles also had an enthusiastic fondness for many sports, especially football, baseball and boxing. He was a 1959 graduate of North Haven High School. Charles will be missed by many, as he rests peacefully with his loving wife.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday May 13, 2025 from 11 AM until the time of a brief service at 1 PM in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven CT. Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758516, Topeka Kansas 66675-8516 in memory of Charles DeMartino.
