COVID-19 Test Kits To Be Distributed In North Haven On Jan. 3

NORTH HAVEN, CT — The Town of North Haven will distribute COVID-19 test kits and N95 masks to residents at an event on Monday evening, First Selectman Michael Freda announced.

Freda said in an update Sunday evening that the town will be receiving a “very limited allocation” of test kits from the state on Monday, and will also have the N95 masks available to distribute along with the test kits.

The distribution event will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 3 at the North Haven Athletic Complex at 222 Maple Avenue.

A proof of residency (driver’s license) is required, according to Freda.

Freda said the timing, and the new location, for the event is “being done in an effort to accommodate those who work during the day and to minimize any disruption of high school activities and other night business or sports activities taking place at the high school.”

“Cars should enter off of Maple Avenue and will drive in where they will be met by our North Haven Police Department and members of our Community Emergency Response Team,” Freda wrote in a post on Facebook. “Residents will then be directed within that complex as to the exact area where the kits and masks will be distributed. One kit will be distributed per household on a first come/ first served basis.

“Although the test kits are limited, we will have enough masks to issue to a mask to every resident in North Haven based on your family size.

“Due to the fact that the state has now received an even lower allocation of kits from their original limited projections, we fully anticipate that the test kits will run out quickly tomorrow evening but our staff WILL be there until 9:00pm to ensure that everyone at least can receive masks.”
